New Additions At Smashburger

In the beginning of the year Smashburger launched a year-long “Roadtrip to Taste the USA” promotion where every two-months they would introduce a new burger from a major city in the United States. Currently, they are stopped in Las Vegas, Nevada and offering the Vegas Burger; Angus Beef patty topped with American cheese, fried egg, beef bacon, grilled onions, haystack onions, and Smashsauce on an egg bun.

The burger was very delicious. A soft bun and a juicy patty. The ingredient come together in harmony. Even the egg! – and I’m usually not a fan of egg with other foods. I didn’t find the basket which the burger was served in very comfy though, was too small.

Another new item on the restaurant’s menu is the All Nighter Salad; a mix of fresh greens topped with chopped beef bacon, fried eggs, guacamole (the best part), fresh diced tomatoes, haystack onions and cheddar cheese with buttermilk ranch dressing. The salad was very yummy and the dressing gave it a unique taste. But I would personally have it without the eggs or the onion rings next time.

You can get the All Nighter salad for free with any main course when you show this picture to your waiter. Offer is valid until 28 Feb. 2013.

Kuwait’s First Gastro Burger Bar Opening Soon

The Epicure group (which is the food and beverage division of the Sultan group), has revealed a new burger/slider restaurant opening in Al-Bidaa’ area by December of 2011.

The restaurant’s name is yet to be announced. The concept, however, is revolved around home-made pickle and radish condiments.

The interior design seems fun. Combining the modernity of plywood and bright colors, with the home-feel of lamps made out of pickle-jars, and the display of different sized pickle bottles with a selection of pickles and radishes on the walls of the show kitchen.

The McDonald’s Experiment In Kuwait

I found this video for a guy in Kuwait showing a McDonald’s burger that he bought on August 27, The video was filmed on September 22, so that’s nearly a month and the burger looks as good as new. I was interested about this as I thought Mac was the healthiest out of the bunch. So I Googled, and what I found on the internet kind of changed that impression.

For example here’s a photo showing two hamburgers, one from Mac (left), one home-made (right). After 11 days, the homemade burger is covered in mold, and the Mac cheeseburger is intact:

I also found another experiment ( link ), also with a McDonald’s happy meal, 180 days and both the burger and fries look the same.

So how much time does a McDonald’s burger actually take to start rotting then eventually decompose??

I still think McDonald’s is the cleanest junk food in Kuwait, but it’s far from being the healthiest though.

Do You Get This Hardee’s Ad?

I just don’t. I mean what does ma3aya fi kol makan (Translates: Accompanies me everywhere) have to do with a burger wrap? Does it mean you can take a burger wrap anywhere but it’s not possible to do that with a normal hamburger? 😛

Can somebody explain to me please??
