In a recent study done by the EyeTrackShop, 30 participants were shown Facebook profiles each for 10 seconds, while webcams were set up to record the eye movement of the person in front of the computer. And after analyzing the recordings, the study reveals what people notice about a Facebook profile the most.
The most popular was the profile picture. Then comes the description of the person on top of the page. And after that the wall. Lastly a surprise was that a good amount of people actually look at your friends list.
The study included other social media as well. Google +, Twitter, LinkedIn, Flickr, YouTube, Klout, Reddit, Digg, Tumblr, StumbleUpon, and Pintrest.
