KUNA: Kuwaiti meteorologists Adel Al-Saadoun and Msaed Al-Hammad stated that a total lunar eclipse will be appearing in the sky of Kuwait on Saturday Dec. 10, 2011. The eclipse will start at moon rise at 4:45 pm and continue until 7:18 pm.
This will be the last eclipse in the year 2011, which witnessed four solar eclipses and two lunar eclipses (including the one happening on Saturday)
I always get mixed up between lunar and solar eclipses and I know lots of you out there are the same. A lunar eclipse happens when the Earth comes between the Moon and the Sun, blocking sunrays, and the moon comes to pass the Earth’s shadow. Read more about lunar eclipses on Wikipedia
