These images are from the photo series Burkaphilia (برقعفيليا) which was created by Afghan-American artist Behnaz Babazadeh.
Burkaphilia is a series of works that use the burka as an interface to make commentary regarding cross-cultural bias. More specifically, of what the average Western person (including myself) would associate as an extreme practice of wearing a burka, through iconographic and symbolic imagery.
Now look closer and try to figure out what these burkas are made out of. You will be surprised.
The red burka is made entirely out of Fruit Roll Ups and it makes me crave the candy like I have never craved it before. The colorful burka is made out of Froot Loops, yes the cereal! While the black burka is made out of latex.
